1. Policy overview
Cancellation outcomes depend on the reservation channel, the policy shown at booking, the timing of the cancellation, and whether the reservation includes any non-refundable items.
The cancellation terms displayed at checkout or in the booking confirmation control for the reservation if they are more specific than this public summary.
2. Direct LuxStays website bookings
Unless a property-specific policy shown at checkout states otherwise, direct website bookings follow this standard LuxStays policy.
A 100% refund applies when cancellation is received 14 days or more before check-in.
A 50% refund applies when cancellation is received 7 to 13 days before check-in.
No refund applies when cancellation is received fewer than 7 days before check-in, and unused nights after check-in are not refundable.
3. Reservations booked through third-party channels
Reservations made through Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, or another authorized channel remain subject to the cancellation policy of that channel and the reservation-level rules shown there.
LuxStays can help explain the reservation record, but refunds for channel bookings may need to be processed according to the channel's own rules and payout timing.
- Airbnb reservations follow the Airbnb cancellation policy attached to the booking
- Vrbo reservations follow the Vrbo policy attached to the booking
- Booking.com reservations follow the Booking.com policy attached to the booking
4. Date changes, credits, and exceptions
Date changes are not guaranteed and depend on availability, pricing differences, and the property's stay restrictions at the time the change is requested.
LuxStays may offer a future stay credit, partial refund, or one-time exception when extraordinary circumstances are documented and the operating impact can be reasonably absorbed.
Any approved exception remains discretionary unless required by law.
5. Force majeure and emergency review
When travel is prevented by a natural disaster, mandatory evacuation, government restriction, or other extraordinary event directly affecting the property or the guest's ability to travel, LuxStays may review the reservation for an exception.
Documentation may be required, and a refund, partial credit, or reschedule option may depend on the property's own owner obligations, insurance position, and the services already incurred for the stay.
6. Refund timing and method
Approved refunds are sent back to the original payment method whenever possible.
Bank processing timelines vary, so posted refunds may take several business days after LuxStays confirms the refund on its side.
Payment processing and credit card transaction fees are not refundable because they are charged by Stripe or the payment processor and are not recoverable by LuxStays unless the processor or applicable law reverses them. Service fees, insurance, or third-party add-ons may also be non-refundable once charged.
7. Chargebacks and reservation disputes
Guests should contact LuxStays before filing a payment dispute so the booking record and any cancellation timing can be reviewed directly.
Submitting a chargeback does not automatically create eligibility for a refund if the reservation remains valid under the agreed cancellation terms.
